This week, River Ridge Kids experienced the last three stations in our Walk with Jesusevent. We began with Station 3 which transported the kids back in time to the Garden of Gethsemane. This is where Jesus spent time praying while his disciples slept. He was later betrayed by Judas and taken away by the soldiers to await trial. Station 4, the Good Friday Experience followed. To help the kids understand the “sourness” of Jesus’ death, they tasted a lemon slice followed by a taste twisting tablet (sweetness). Even though Jesus’ death was very sour it became something much sweeter. This led to the final station, Easter Resurrection. At Station 5, the kids were greeted by Joseph of Arimathea who was at the tomb ready to give Jesus a proper burial and Mary had just discovered the empty tomb of Jesus. The kids were able to see their sins disappear (using dissolving paper) and feel the thrilling experience of Jesus defeating death!
