Community Service

Outreach Ministry

Each year we host several large events for the community that position us to build the reputation of Christ as we love others the way He loves us. Through our outreach efforts, we are able to build bridges to the unchurched by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ and doing good works in His name.

Feed My Starving Children

Feed My Starving Children believes that hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. Our process is simple. Donations given by people just like you fund the meal ingredients. Volunteers hand-pack the meals. Meals are donated to FMSC food partners around the world, where kids are fed and lives are saved!

McHenry County Adopt a Highway Program

The McHenry County Adopt-A-Highway Program is a volunteer effort to eliminate litter along sections of County Roads. As a way of expressing our commitment to maintaining and serving our community, River Ridge Church has adopted two stretches of highway, one on Wilmot road north of 173 and one on Main Street in Spring Grove. Every year, we gather 3-4 times between the spring and fall to clean up litter and help to beautify our community.

Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan's Purse, an international Christian relief and evangelism organization headed by Franklin Graham. The project collects shoebox gifts filled with fun toys, school supplies and hygiene items—and delivers them to children in need around the world to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way. For many of these children, the gift-filled shoebox is the first gift they have ever received. Delivered into the hands of children through local churches, every shoebox gift is an opportunity to share about Jesus Christ and God's love.

Each year, River Ridge Church participates in the collection, packing, and delivery of shoeboxes for this ministry between September and November.

Good Shepherds Senior Visitation Ministry

This outreach ministry exists to help provide direction and support for the spiritual, emotional, and social well-being of seniors within our congregation and in our community, who may be unable to attend regular services. We want to ensure that no one is lost or forgotten, even if they are confined at home or in an assisted living facility.

Volunteers will meet with senior adults in their homes. This will be a time for fellowship and sharing of the Gospel. Other opportunities may include making phone calls, writing notes, or sending cards. Visits will be scheduled according to the needs and schedules of both the seniors and the volunteers.

If you would like to be part of this team or for more information, contact Kim Pino at
