Brian Calendine

Elder

Brian Calendine currently serves as President of the Elder Board and as the Small Groups Coordinator.  He became a follower and disciple of Jesus Christ in early adulthood.  His past walk with God has not always been a smooth road, but the Lord has always been patient with Brian and faithful in His grace, mercy, and love.

Brian has served the Lord in several ministry capacities, such as Awana leader, VBS team leader, children’s Sunday school instructor, PADS shift leader, small group leader, and has served on various teams to develop and help small groups to flourish. In his business career, he has held managerial positions in several companies, and is currently retired from Abbvie Inc., where he worked for 32 years. Brian has been happily married to his beautiful wife, Deanna, for 38 years.  He has four children: Jessica, Erin, Rebecca, and Matthew.  He has eight grandchildren: Brooklyn, Wyatt, Anderson, Addison, Savannah, Jackson, Avery, and Levi.  Aside from serving the Lord, Brian’s main interest is spending time with his family, although he occasionally enjoys target shooting, golf, and following the University of Wisconsin and Chicago sports teams.  He is passionate about small groups and the impact they can have on people’s relationship with God, each other, and the community.  Brian has two main goals: to fulfill River Ridge’s mission statement “to glorify God and advance His kingdom by loving others to Christ” and to have everyone attending River Ridge Church involved in small groups and community outreach.
